About me

I am the owner operator of Switch On NZ independently delivering professional development to build teacher capacity both face to face and virtually. I am also an accredited Apple Professional Learning Specialist.

I facilitate thinking. I engage minds. I listen to questions. I encourage risk. I support struggle. I cultivate dreams. I learn everyday. I TEACH.

I am passionate about purposeful play based learning when students are provided an invitation or provocation to learn. I have developed a learning concept which I call "Play, Make, Create" this concept infuses play, making and digital technologies. You can book to attend a workshop on the WORKSHOPS page. I am also a creator and Maker from way back!

For me using technology use to be 'Purpose, Outcome and Audience' (what's your purpose, what outcome are you wanting to achieve and who is your audience) but now I see it more as a vehicle to enable our students hearts to be felt, their voices to be heard and for them to be able to make a positive change in the world.

Technology is not only a gateway to a global audience but can enable educators to do what nothing else can.
Let's nurture 'Wonderment and Awe', where both teachers and students are curious and want to dive deeper to find out more.
Let's make the learning stick!

I ensure young people ‘do doing’ and by exploring their passions, build confidence and foster creativity through STEAM learning. Building teacher capacity is my ultimate goal so that the maker culture is embedded in every classroom. I am passionate about education in the Early Years and have published a wealth of resources on the Apple Store.

I have previously been everything from a classroom teacher (of all levels) through to Assistant Principal. I have created and run a dedicated Makerspace fostering creativity and embedding technology across a large primary school.

I develop and create resources for both teachers and students and share these on the Apple bookstore, via this website and through social media.
