Resources: This month I began a 'project' to develop a series of multitouch books of a different kind......after feedback from teachers who visited our school and those that couldn't due to distance (e.g. the other side of the world!) it had become obvious that a resource that shared more than just apps or learning experiences, one that shared genuine teacher reflection, classroom environments and a strong scaffolding to support teachers in implementing digital learning experiences would be of benefit to all teachers and then as a result ALL learners too. I made a start on the first of 4 Oral Language multitouch books for Early Years. These books would also become part of our school wide induction e.g. form the base of our 'must do's' e.g. solid literacy practices which have a direct effect on positive student outcomes. Below is a sneak peak of the cover designs which will appear within the "About this book" Keynote. Professional development: This month I attended an NZ ADE meet up in Botany Auckland, where I presented a session on 1:1 iPad environments for Juniors. This was a bit of an eye opener as over 80% of teachers that attended were PC users and had little of no experience of the iPad. I received a great deal of feedback and teachers were excited and motivated at the possibilities. Unfortunately many were marred (and disappointed) by the fact that they were not the decision makers in purchasing devices in their schools.
