Principals from other schools always ask us 'so what do you get out of being an Apple Distinguished School'.....visits like these are one of the things that we get, the opportunity to listen to others, to learn, to reflect, to share and to grow. Not to mention forging lasting relationships with fellow educators doing amazing things and truly making a difference in the lives of their students. We are extremely thankful for these opportunities.
The MADE awards are in full swing, with taking on the role as chairperson this year I have had a massive increase in workload but with the full support of my committee and fellow TAKP staff I'm sure it will be a huge success. Our teachers and students are doing their usual infusing authentic learning experiences and digital technologies throughout they day so no doubt some of their stunning creations will make the cut for MADE entries. We (TAKP) have become very discerning with our learners and they have to be a very high standard to even make the cut for entering and representing our school - even before the MADE's actually independent judging process takes place!
